To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, an awareness campaign was rolled out showing a dancer’s performance to express physical and emotional abuse.

Creation of a dedicated website for women’s rights and the Committee as well as a visual identity

The website will provide a focal point for information on public policies introduced in the Principality to promote women’s rights in the fields of gender equality and combatting violence against women.

Gender equality at work charter #Monequality

The charter is aimed at stakeholders in the public and private sectors and seeks to change mind-sets and practices. It is made up of a series of commitments to be adopted in order to make progress towards gender equality at work.

Extension of maternity leave in Monaco

Basic maternity leave has been extended from 16 to 18 weeks. The aim is to enable women to maintain a balance between their families and their careers.

Grants for women’s rights organisations

To thank them for their commitment and support, the Government has decided to pay lump-sum grants to women’s rights organisations.

Introduction of indicators on violence against women

The indicators introduced by Monaco Statistics (IMSEE) will provide figures on the number of incidents in the Principality.

Launch of IMSEE study on salaries

As part of its work on behalf of the Committee, Monaco Statistics (IMSEE) has launched a study on salaries. The aim of the study is to measure the gaps between salaries received by men and women who are employed in Monaco.

Legislation updated

A legal review to update regulations that contain obsolete provisions is currently underway.

#8MarchMonaco campaign

This awareness campaign was held to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March 2019. Photographs taken by the artist Mr Oneteas were displayed in the Principality. This campaign helped involving personalities in the fight for gender equality.
